Lazy Sunday’s Corner

Lazy’s Lit and Stuff 2009

Like on last year, this is where I keep track of my cultural events… or, how I want to prevent myself from becoming a dim person… ehehehehe

Books

The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory. Started the 4th January. Finished the 8th of March. It took me over two months to read it, but it doesn’t mean I didn’t like it. It’s just a tad boring when you know the end of the story…

Twilight (portuguese translation) by Stephenie Meyer. Started the 8th of March / finished 12th April. I really want to read the rest of the saga.  I fell in love with Edward and Bella.

The Thirteenh Tale by Diane Setterfield. Started the 26th April/ finished 21st June. – Liked it. Good summer reading.

O Amor é Fodido by Miguel Esteves Cardoso. Started the 2nd May / Finished…

New Moon By Stephenie Meyer. Started de 21st June/ Finished 26th June. As I said before, I fell in love with Edward and Bella. Now, this is a book full of pain… It wasn’t possible for me not to relate to Bella.

O Jogo do Anjo by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. Started 26th June/ Finished…

Cinema/Films

Sweeney Todd (2007) – finally saw it. I liked it, despite the amount of blood. Quite an unexpected end. (2nd of Jan)

The Dutchess (2008) – I liked it, but didn’t love it.

Underworld (2003)- I bought the DVD, but had already seen it a couple of years ago. Vampires, what can I say. I have a weak spot for them…

Marley and Me (2008) – I loved the book, and enjoyed the film. Marley really was a sweet dog. Funny thing, guys were crying more than the girls… ehehe.

Twilight (2008) – Following the hype, I read the book, and since  hadn’t seen the movie, I bought the DVD. Surely liked it, despeite some negative reviews of the film. As I said abut the book, I fell in love with both Bella and Edward. Every love story should be like that.

Angels and Demons (2009) – Had to see it. I had read the book, so… The story sucks, but special FX are great.

The Proposal (2009) – Chick flick, but a very funny one.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (2009): had to see it as I’m a fan of the saga. But the truth is I’m a bit disappointed with the adaptation, despite the fabulous special fx.
