I’m not jobless anymore / Back in the Highlands

Yey! I got the Job and I’ll start next Monday. I can’t wait to have a life again : ).

Today this post will be tremendously short, since I’m going to the highlands, and my noble steed waits for me. I’ll be back on Sunday to prepare everything for the next day.

Wish me luck and enjoy the mist!

Weekend in the city

This has been a special weekend: Argus came to the forest for the weekend, which was superb. Not only we were able to be together (and it’s been hard lately), we also managed to do a lot of things we wanted to do for many weeks now, such as going to the cinema (I still hadn’t watch a single film in a theatre this year). We ended up choosing P.s. I love you. Erm… I actually chose it *grin*. I knew it was about loss, and I know loss… But I enjoyed it very much. And he did too… although he doesn’t admit it.

We also managed to visit a store that is a must go for any RPG/CCG/Miniatures fan. Argus bought some Warhammer 40K miniatures. I guess we’ll be painting some, the next time I go up to the highlands. In a theme related thingie, we also played my favourite CCG: Legend of the 5 Rings. That was an everlasting game. But fun nonetheless.

It’s good to walk beside the elf you love. It is even better when, you know each other so well, that you get the person just by looking at him. It’s hard to be apart, but it’s also very good when we reunite, and we always try to make the best out of it.

This week will also be the one in which my professional future is going to be decided. So, I’m a bit nervous because I really want that job. Not just want… I need the job “or I shall run mad” (just a little of flavor to Alan Rickman fans… ), now that I’ve finished all my errands.

Apparently, this will be a nerve racking week, so while we wait (and we are always waiting for something), enjoy the mist.

Memory Lane

It’s weird to suddenly realize that 10 years have gone just like that… It happened to me yesterday. I was just strolling around on an ancient part of the forest where my father and grandfather used to hang out… And they’re not here anymore, and it’s awkward to be there. It’s like a legacy, and that now is my turn to be threading this path. I’ve always been very conscious about time, the lack of it, and the way it passed by. However, there’s nothing like a certain place to revive your memory and for a daunting truth to dawn on you.

Other than that, I could see myself, 10 years younger. At this point I just shook my head vehemently, so that the despicable image would go away. Seriously. Since I was in my late teens I developed this teenage phobia, and being a fairy teenager didn’t make it easier. I still don’t know how to deal with teens, because every new generation is way worse than the previous one. Of course there are always exceptions, but unfortunately I’ve never met any, but this is what I’ve been told.

I guess today I went down the memory lane. Something I didn’t do in quite a while. And I wonder why… Actually I know why. Because it’s hard and revives open wounds in my heart. Still, it makes me more earth bounded, and despite the sadness, I can wake up stronger, with a little smile by remembering those who unfortunately are not here with me anymore. The thing is: to remember is to keep them alive in me.

After taking this moment, I’m going to flap my wings and return to the real world. I’m still a very busy fairy…

Pouring down

It’s been a long time since it rained like it’s raining at the moment. I can’t recall the last time… The forest is plunged in chaos (I mean, more than usual). I’m so lucky to be able to stay home in a day like today. I barely slept, because the thunders were so loud, I kept waking up. So, adding up bad humor to a complicated situation. If I still was a little fae, my teacher would say, “it’s raining cats and dogs” (later I found out, no one says this…).

I’m going to seize day to read the books I want to finish (desperately need to finish…), and to watch “The Perfume”. I’ll let you know, where I stand in both tasks, in my page “Dawn’s Lit & Stuff”.

For now I just hope the rain stops for a bit (we know that the rain is needed, but this is ridiculous… Too much is not good either). Back to the forest now. See you later.

The Art of Doing Nothing (sort of…)

Laptop is broken (and God knows how long it is gonna take to come back from repair…), so I’m feeling a bit down. My laptop is like an extension of me. In the meanwhile, I’ve been running some errands, things I definitely have to do, and that can’t wait to be done, which leaves me with little time to do what I like to do.

I’ve returned from the Highlands on Tuesday, hoping to post something by Wednesday, but then again, loads of stuff came in between, and here I am, shamelessly late when it comes to my own posting terms. The days I spent away were quite fun, and I’ve even managed to hurt my back while helping Argus with the furniture and endless paraphernalia (aka junk) he has for kitchen appliances and “tools”.

Now I’m back, and the job offer looks better by the minute, but while it isn’t certain, I don’t want to celebrate it just yet. I rather wait a couple more days, or whatever it takes to be certain. I just don’t like to take things for granted. No matter how well they’re going. Wish me luck on that one…

Anyway, and despite being busy with the errands, sometimes I still feel useless. That’s why I really need to put my hands on a job soon. Still, There are some perks when you’re this kind of free: I actually managed to read a 750 pages book in less than a month (considering that on regular vacations I can manage this in a week…). How I envy the people who can do this in 2 or 3 days (I’m not going to mention the people who get to do this even more quickly, otherwise I’ll be depressed). I also finished my painting (which is already in the highlands) and I got to draw a little bit. Rubbish, but they’re MY drawings, and no matter how bad they are.

The plans for the following days include a little road trip tomorrow, shopping later today, and finish the 2 books I still have on my nightstand. We’ll see about the rest.

Stay tuned.

Quikie…

I love the deadlines I impose myself, but the problem is I seldom get to actually accomplish whatever I’ve proposed myself to do. I said I wanted to have finished the Lady of Hay yesterday tops. Well the news is I still haven’t finished it, but I’m near the end. I’m actually going to find out what happened to Matilda/ Jo. Tonight I’m going to finish it, no matter what.

Also I wanted to post something today, because once again I’m going away to the Highlands. Argus parents granted me a safe passage through their lands. This means I can get to see Argus, and help him in his new Manor House. Yupiiii… But this also means I’ll be away from my digital fortress (and no, I haven’t read the book with this title, although I read two books by Dan Brown, and enjoyed them). I’ll probably only be able to post next week, when I come back.

If I can, I’ll keep you posted.

Enjoy.

How does a fairy keep busy these days

Suddenly it’s the 4th of February and I realized I still haven’t posted anything this month. That’s just unforgivable.

Well, lately, I’ve spend most of my time on the tree, cleaning up, watching some shows, trying to fix the web access from the laptop (everything a fairy needs to keep busy, really), and reading. So, last night I was up until almost 4am, reading Barbara Erskine’s “Lady of Hay”, which is a gripping novel and I desperately want to finish it by tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow tops… I like to impose these deadlines when it comes to reading, because they help me stay focused on a goal. And that’s important right now, since I’ve so many goals on my horizon, focusing will come in handy.

Hey guys, I’m still in need of your advice when it comes to the ipod: Ipod nano or Ipod Touch…
